Welcome to Day 1 of the Service Dog Handler Symposium!
Crazy2Calm Canine Coaches want to welcome you to this free online event for all Service Dog Handlers. We hope you enjoy these presentations and will tune in for our live Panel of Experienced Service Dog Handlers each day.
Crazy2Calm Canine Coaches is a collaborative effort that brings together various resources created and shared by our network of Trainers, Team Coaches, & Behavior Consultants. All the Coaches in this collaboration are committed to maintaining a force free training style free from the use of fear, pain, or intimidation to humans or dogs.
We hope this Symposium will encourage you to think about you and your dog as a TEAM navigating life together, helping each other out, and becoming the best SD Team you can be.
Bonnie resides in Missouri and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 21 years in social work an 13 years experience as an LCSW, having turned to dog training as her full time profession in 2021.
Bonnie's training journey began when she completed therapy dog training for her dog Beau to accompany her in her social work endeavors. She is passionate and committed to always learning more in her professional fields and enjoys assisting clients and their dogs through her unique lens and knowledge of people and dogs.
She assists pet owners and service dog handlers with basic obedience, anxiety, reactivity, public access training and testing and task training with a commitment to rewards based, aversion free training. Her goal is to assist every team with achieving a deep, rewarding partnership for both the handler and the dog.
Rene Smith, a Certified Canine Behavior Consultant (CCBC-KA) with nearly a decade of experience working with aggressive dogs, brings a unique perspective to understanding behavior at both ends of the leash.
Rene is host to a wonderful facebook group, The Human End of the Leash and has recently started an email newsletter that you will enjoy. These are not strictly Service Dog related, but will help you with any behaviors you are struggling with.

Penny is the owner of Yooper Paws of Love and a force-free, positive reinforcement-based dog trainer with over 30 years of experience working with dogs of all ages, sizes, and needs. She specializes in building strong human-dog relationships through teamwork, games, and science-backed behavior strategies. Penny works extensively with Service Dogs, Therapy Dogs, and family companions—helping each dog become a confident, well-mannered member of their community. She’s passionate about making training fun, effective, and rooted in kindness.
